I started reading volume 3... was amused (and thought Kyouya was totally hot
(*^.^*)) So I started buying the whole series. i like it better than Hana Kimi
'cuz Haruhi's approach toward life in general is just so... unusual for a
heroine in a romantic comedy. She's no particularly enthusiastic about anything,
but she speaks her mind. i love that in a chick. (*~.^*)
Heh - that's because the brand of socialism put in place in Paris after WWII by
deGaulle and his cronies fostered a culture of high taxes and government
programs supposedly cabpapble of providing for everyone's needs that in turn led
a culture of entitlement. Of COURSE the frenchies are going to be angry if one
of their welfare benefits are taken away - they haven't been gouged by
progressively higher tax rates to lose their state entitlements now,
gosh-darnit!
It's something of our current social secutiry crisis all blown out of proportion
- because the french culture no longer emphasizes individuals or families taking
care of themselves, citizens rely on the state. And when the state f's up, as it
always does, everyone tied to it suffers.
I wanna sequel!
Damn they left us hanging at the end of hte anime, and so much stuff happens in
the manga - we didn't even meet three of the zodiac! And i want more of my
hana-sama! *SD's and pitches a tantrum*
I'm all for more FMP, especially fumoffu-type silliness, but I'd really love a
bit on Wraith (the Mithril agent who was watching over Kaname in TSR) or some
well-deserved SousukexKaname fluff. If it's really Tessa-focused... Meh,
I can take it or leave it. She doesn't really float my boat.
(I sure hope I don't get whomped for posting this in the wrong place... )
I was wondering if it might be possible to have separate watchlist and review
features for manga. I find reviews for manga series especially helpful from
places like amazon.com (when they have them!) and I'm sure MT-ers could weigh in
with some useful advise on their favorite series. since manga don't have
naything like voice actors or soundtracks, the review form would be a lot
simpler.
It's probably a lot of additional work for the mod-sama-tachi, I know; I just
wanted to suggest it, since i wondered if other people on MT agreed with me.
(*^.^*)
To bweb:
as scary as that quote on communism is, at least he's stating his goals rather
than pursuing a hidden agenda. America's a greater for our ability to express
our own wrong opinions! (*^.^*) And just because he says it doesn't mean it's
going to happen. There's several million more people in the U.S. who
whole-heartedly disagree with him and will pursue their own counter-agendas to
ensure communism never takes root here.
I myself see the merits of anarchy and can't understand why you'd want to
encourage the absolute nanny state (which is what communism is) founded on the
priciples espoused by a misanthropic clincally depressed Deutscher with serious
emotional issues.
I think the IDEA of an organization such as the ACLU is worthy, noble, embodying
the purest ideals of our democratic republic of government "by the people
and for the people" whereupon the people have the right to prosecute the
government for violation of their God-given (yes, that's right, GOD-GIVEN)
rights as human beings.
Nevertheless, just from what I read in the papers and online, I get a sense that
the ACLU has lost this ideal, and has instead gone forward to prosecute its own
political agenda under the guise of "freedom for all." That hypocrisy
I cannot abide.
Why is it that they will endlessly back crackpots and extremists and yet have
never defended a single pro-life demonstrator arrested on the steps of the
Supreme Court?
Hm, with photoshop elements, i think the layer blending options window should
pop up when you double click on the layer in the layers window, just like it
does in regular PS. If not, it should be one of the icons along the bottom of
the layers window.
Hope tha helps, hon!

Sylvacoer! definitely no suspense to know who the winner will be XP... sorry,
couldn't participate <-- is way too busy with school and other problems ...
anyways, my pic is Dark or Light, just coz' i love the contrast ...
can't help but find Kyo's red wings cute, as well as the little heart at the tip
of his sword ... ok, just like Sylvacoer is Kyoshiro biased, I'm Kyo biased XP
Heh, thanks... and I drew both of them in the same pic since I figured there
were two sides of the house who could be made happy!
YUUHI
You are very stubborn yet passionate. You tend to not get along very well but
you are still loved whether you realize it or not. You love to cook and/or adore
food. You are attracted to Suzumis and Ayas turn on your mojo. ;P
One word to describe you:
Stubborn.
Yay! Yuuhi-kun's my favorite character in the whole series - he's such a hottie
and a good guy at heart (*^-^*) I agree with dianas-san, the manga is waaaay
better than the anime!
Quote by Ayamael
I'm sorry, i doubt i'll be able to participate in this one... i already have
another drawing due for around that date... one that i promised someone last
summer and i feel like finding time to draw will be a challenge in the
next few months well,
if i ever participate, consider it a miracle ^^
I second Ayamael-san: the gallery should be SDK art (walls and doujins)
exclusively. we could also do a feature "scan of the month" thing,
just to liven things up , but I think it would be best to feature fanwork. ^_^
Leaf-san and sylvacoer invite all members of the SDK group here at MT to enter
our newest doujin contest: Valentine Deeper. The theme, of course,
is Valentine's Day, that WAFFy romantic time of year where Hallmark makes a
killing on cards and smart boyfriends stock up on Godiva to give their
significant others. (*^.^*)
The rules are pretty
simple:
1. The doujin must use characters from
Samurai Deeper Kyo (duh...)
2. The theme is Valentine's and whatever that might mean to you personally.
*cough*fluffiness! *cough, cough!*
2. Any medium is acceptable, whether pencil, crayon, CG, or what have
you.
3. Please have all entries in by 10 February, and notify either Leaf-san or
sylva-nee-san via PM of your entry (please include the MT url). You may enter as
many entries as you want.
Voting methods haven't been decided yet, but we wanted to give ya'll time to
start creating. Good luck, and I want to see prettiness! (*^.^*)
I you are to go strictly by the first dvd release count, it's six: there are two
on the "trust" dvd, two and the "betrayal" dvd, [these four
eps together are the "prequel eps"] and two on
"reflections/seisouhen" dvd [the series sequel]. HOWEVER, since the
release of the "director's cut" versions, each dvd has been smushed
together: the two eps of "trust" and the two eps of
"betryal" have become signle episodes, labelled "trust and
betrayal" respectively. Same thing for the sequel OVA, which is now one
long movie-length feature (with Saitou scenes in the bargain ^.^)
Carol of the Bells is awesome! I keep
meaning to get that CD, but I also keep forgetting... (-.-) [there's a RuroKen
AMV set to it?! (O_O) Where, where, where?!?!]
My favorite songs are "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "What
Child Is This?" I'm really into those old English carols, I've noticed... I
also like medieval and Renaissance christmas music.
Officially, I own up volume 16. Unofficially, I've been reading scanlations of
the newest chappies on an LJ SDk fan site. (^-^) Conclusion? aka no ou must
die... horribly.
And as much as I want to thwack Kyoushiro, I'm sad about what appned to him in
the latest installment! (*~*)
Quote by MantI have seen only a few episodes
of the anime, is it so different from the manga?
I know that the transmigration manga--->anime often change things, but they
modified even the base story? o.O
Oh, heck yes! There was no such thing as 'Kenyou' in the manga - it's samurai
with demonic skillz, but no actaul demons. Plus, the real villains are the Mibu
and they... *urk!* (Can't say anymore because it would be a spoiler for anyone
who's not read the manga!)
and the art is much, much better in the manga, if you dare compare the anime to
it, I would have to beat you.
In order:
#1: Eimin: If you go away...
#2: TheWizzard: Falling
#3: Phamthuha: ---=*Countryside*=---
Good luck to all participants!
